RANDALL’S ISLAND PARK, NYC

The project is for a new building on a slender site on Randall’s Island that straddles the RFK/Triborough Bridge. The building is designed to accommodate parkland operations and maintenance facility for Manhattan and Randall’s Island.

The design is composed of two parallel bars that merge to form one building. One bar contains offices and staff rooms, the other a garage and material storage. The roofs of both bars are accessible sloped green roof. The space between the two bars is covered by a skylight and is a gathering space that includes a lounge as well as providing circulation to the various parts of the facility.
